AML Manager | 6 Months FTC Reading or London Salary negotiable BCL are delighted to be working in collaboration with this highly regarded Top 60 Law Firm in their search for an AML Manager to be based out of either their London or Reading Offices. The Risk Department is responsible for the administration of the Firm's risk and compliance procedures in accordance with regulatory obligations. Looking after processes such as anti-money laundering, new client and new matter verification, handling and resolving AML issues, file reviews and assisting with the annual Lexcel assessment. The firm are extremely proud of their Risk and Compliance team who are passionate and hardworking and have made great efforts to build excellent relationships with key stake holders across the business. The Role: As the newly appointed AML Manager you will work in collaboration with the wider risk and compliance team and will assume full responsibility for a team of five AML Assistants. This a fantastic opportunity for an AML professional, with prior management experience in a law firm, to lead a junior Risk &Compliance team. The work is very varied and will include managing the AML Function and collaborating with fee earning teams and the members of the wider Risk department to ensure compliance with Risk department to ensure compliance with the requirements of the SRA and wider UK Legislation. This includes: · Monitoring compliance with the firm's AML procedures across the firm · Managing a small team of AML Assistants · Being a subject expert within all Legal AML functions · Monitoring and reporting on high risk clients and matters · Demonstrating the ability to work on escalating and often complex AML Matters · Keeping up to date with all changes to the AML regulations and relevant professional/regulatory requirements and make recommendations for any appropriate changes to the Risk & Compliance Director · Provide guidance and training across the firm on AML/CTF policies, controls, and procedures. This position will work well for someone who is either immediately available or looking for a fixed term contract position with the view to it becoming permanent for the right candidate. This role is full time based over 5 days and on a 35 hour week and there is flexibility to work from either the London or Reading office. Please note immediate starts are available for suitable candidates . Due to the complexities and legislation aspect of this role, it's essential that you have a proven work history in AML gained within a Law Firm.
